Leon Nauta is the founder of Jannu Capital, a commercial finance advisory firm helping lower- and middle-market companies navigate private credit and identify financing partners and structures that fit their specific circumstances.

Leon has over 10 years of experience in private credit origination, institutional investment analysis, and strategic business development. His combination of analytical expertise and relationship-focused origination gives him a distinctive perspective on financing transactions. He understands how capital providers assess opportunities, what drives lender interest, and how companies can best position themselves in the market.

Before founding Jannu Capital, Leon led private credit origination at Wingspire Capital, a BDC of Blue Owl Capital, which manages $307 billion in assets*. Before, he conducted company analysis at Robeco, a global asset manager with $396 billion in assets under management*.

This background enables him to evaluate businesses, assess risk, analyze capital structures, and view financing opportunities from a capital-provider perspective. Leon works with CFOs, founders, business owners, and private equity sponsors to assess financing needs, identify appropriate private credit lenders, coordinate lender outreach and due diligence, and compare proposals. He helps clients find the right private credit partner that aligns with the company profile, financial situation, and objectives.

Leon holds a bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing, a master’s degree in Business Administration, and a postgraduate master’s degree in Investment Management. During his postgraduate studies, he researched quantitative investing and risk premia in financial markets, and his work has been published in industry media. He is a Certified Sales Executive (CSE) and a CFA Netherlands Chartered Investment Analyst (RBA).

Through Jannu Capital, Leon brings together institutional investment thinking, private credit origination experience, a data-driven and technology-enabled approach, commercial judgment, and an extensive network across the financing market to help companies approach complex financing decisions with greater preparation, efficiency, clarity, and confidence.
